Current Calls for Action in Washington

REET 2024

Washington State Legislature looking to put a new sales tax on real estate sales during a housing crisis.

Spokane Housing Affordability

In a package of emergency measures, the Spokane City Council passed the largest package of impact fees in history. From Water and Sewer Hookups to a transportation fee, these moves add over $25,000 to the price of a new home. This hurts everyone, from new buyers to renters.

Real Estate Excise Tax (REET)

HB 1628 increases REET to 4% for all properties over $5 million and provides a .25 local option for all property. Increasing the cost of housing in order to make more housing does not solve the current housing crisis.
